Inside Out Steelband – Composer Spotlight Concerts
Partially in response to the global Coronavirus pandemic, and partially because these are the composers whose music I love to play, I have spent the second half of 2020 presenting Composer Spotlight concerts, performing my friends’ steelpan compositions and hearing them talk about their work and their lives. These concerts have been a real silver lining for me, and have been especially helpful in attempting to bridge the gap between composers and audiences. As a composer, I’m inspired by all of my friends’ work, and as a performer, I’m so grateful to have their music to play.
